Pulp Film Club will celebrate the comedy genius of Tom Hanks with a special “Hanks-Giving” event, showing the rarely screened cult classic, THE ‘BURBS. Part dark comedy, part suburban horror, “The ‘Burbs” plays out like a zanier version of Hitchcock’s Rear Window, while also tapping into the satanic panic of 1980s America and the disillusionment with suburban life.
Directed by horror comedy legend, Joe Dante – director of Gremlins, The Howling, Piranha and Small Soldiers. Dante dishes up laughs and frights in this 1989 gem. Also starring Carrie Fisher, Corey Feldman and Bruce Dern.
We’ll have a custom made Tom Hanks quiz and prizes for the winner. Film starts at 8.30 PM.
